Summer Solstice Festival
Tomodachi Daiko will be hosting Japanese Drummers as we embark on a week long journey to come together and celebrate this Summer Solstice “Matsuri” Festival. Featuring performers from Tomodachi Daiko and Chokoma Daiko, with guest performances by Mr. Yoshikazu Fujimoto and Ms. Chieko Kojima from Kodo, as well as Mr. Kaoru Watanabe from New York. Drummers range in age from elementary school to 60+ years of age, with groups coming from Japan, as well as our very own Tomodachi Daiko from Anchorage, Alaska. The show title “Matsuri” means festival in Japanese, and it is through this festival that we hope to build lasting bonds and friendships with our groups and the community of Anchorage. Ticket are $30 $50 per person.
